MFC Products
- We recommend cleaning MFC products with a clean,
damp, non-abrasive cloth.
- Furniture polishes or chemicals are not required
when cleaning MFC products, as these may damage the surface.
- All substances accidentally spilt should be removed
from the surface of the MFC product as soon as possible.
Wood Veneer
Products
- Cleaning of veneer products should be carried out
by using a damp cloth, followed by a dry, soft duster.
- We advise against the use of cleaning agents such
as spray and wax polishes.
- If spillage occurs, wipe it up immediately –
do not allow any liquid to linger.
- It should also be remembered that most natural
timbers change colour on exposure to light. The degree of change
will vary according to the species of timber, the length of exposure
and the intensity of the light.
Steel
Storage Products
- We recommend all steel storage products are wiped
over with a damp cloth or duster.
- Do not use any abrasive or solvent based cleaning
liquids that may permanently damage the paint finish.
- Also remember that items when full should not be
re-located unless using specialist lifting equipment.
Glass
Products
- Clean the glass surface with a soft lint cloth
using a recognised glass cleaning fluid.
- Where the glass has a frosted or opaque underside
– to remove marks or fingerprints – clean with a mild
solution of warm water and detergent.
Fabrics
Wool and Wool based upholstery
This applies to the following fabric ranges:
Advantage, Flamblend, Mainline Pus and Screen
- To prevent dirt, dust and grit from penetrating
the fabric structure, it is necessary to vacuum upholstery on
a regular basis.
- Periodically, deeper cleaning may be required.
Annual or bi-annual cleaning will preserve and enhance wool upholstery.
- It is strongly recommended that professional cleaning
services are used to deep clean upholstery
fabrics.
- Upholstery fabrics containing wool must be dry
cleaned only.
- Aqueous cleaning of such fabrics is not advised.
- Never over wet wool or wool
rich upholstery, also never apply bleach, ammonia, alkali
or strong acids to wool upholstery.
Synthetic upholstery
This applies to the following fabric ranges:
Xtreme Plus, Cara, Galway and Lucia
- Regular vacuuming is recommended to prevent dirt,
dust and grit from penetrating the fabric structure.
- Periodically, deeper cleaning may be required.
Annual or bi-annual cleaning will preserve and enhance synthetic
upholstery.
- It is strongly recommended that professional cleaning
services are used to deep clean upholstery fabrics.
- Synthetic fabrics respond well to dry cleaning
techniques with the exception of Polypropylene, as high temperatures
could damage the fabric.
- Aqueous cleaning techniques may also be used.
- Upholstery fabrics containing 100% synthetic fibres
(polyester, polyacrylic, polypropylene) are not adversely affected
by aqueous cleaning techniques and once surface dirt has been
removed by a vacuum, the fabrics can be simply wiped with a lean
damp cloth.
- Polyester and polyacrylic upholstery fabrics can
be machine washed at temperatures of 40ºC – 60ºC. When machine
washing, use branded upholstery shampoo only. Never use bleach,
ammonia or other cleaning agents which are not specially designed
for the task.
- Exceeding the temperature limits of the fabrics
will result in permanent damage.
- Polypropylene is not suitable for machine washing.
Vacuuming and then wiping with a clean damp cloth will remove
most soiling agents.
